Fly-In's:

Chapter 122 sponsors at least one annual 'Fly-In' locally. Aviators 'fly in' from all over the Mid-Atlantic Region in all types of aircraft for the purpose of...well, just plain FUN! It's a day of shared adventure; shop-talk, marveling at the 'build' or 'restoration' projects of the arriving pilots, 'fly-by's', 'flour bombing' contests, 'candy drop' for the kids, airplane rides, new friendships made, old ones renewed. Also used in conjunction with fundraising through the time-honored EAA tradition; the 'All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast Fly-In'.

Young Eagles Rally:

On July 31, 1992, EAA launched a program with the goal of giving one million youngsters their first (free!) airplane ride before the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers first powered flight. General Chuck Yeager, the legendary aviator who was the first man to break the speed of sound, was named chairman of the Young Eagles program. On November 13, 2003, the goal was reached and the one-millionth Young Eagle was flown!

The Future:

Our goal is to build our own hangar, a permanent home where we can house a classroom, chapter tools, 'build' projects, and members' planes.
